SOUNDS LIKE LOVE
Sounds Like Love is an experimental audio lab, presented by Women in Sound. Participants in this workshop playfully explore the concept of love through popular music, critical readings, and sonic meditations. The lab embraces and encourages an amateur mind-set of making, listening, and loving. The word ‘amateur’ is derived from late 18th century French, borrowed from the Latin word for ‘lover’ (amator).
In the design for a flyer and Facebook event banner, warm eggplant contours unfurl from behind the text: their playfulness suggests openness – to all skill levels, and to new ideas. Organic shapes with soft edges meet delicate spirals, celebrating a process of free and meditative expression. Vibrant, warm colors convey passion and intimacy, and lines and shapes are layered to create rhythm and depth.
